Lecture Report 3 : Visual Types and Shots

We were given the freedom to take pictures from our album that already existed, and were also allowed to take pictures for this report. I decided to use some pictures from my album that I already have. Not only that, I had a mini photoshoot with the help of my friend at campus. So, she was the model for my mini photoshoot. I had this photoshoot to expand my knowledge to better understand the shots.

1) Establishing Shot

Fig 1.0 Bird Eye View

This picture was taken during my trip to Penang last month. The architecture of the building gave  the colosseum vibe. Not only that, one of my favorite shot that I have taken so far in my gallery.

2) Bird's Eye view

Fig 1.1 Bird Eye View

This shot was taken at campus Block D , Level 8. I managed to take this shot and also I had to use my wide angle to make sure that it looks like a bird eye.

3) Frame within a frame

Fig 1.2 Frame within a frame

This picture was taken during the mini photoshoot that I had with my friend, Jon. So for this shot, I used my palm hand to use it as a frame. I've used this method multiple times back in the days when I got my new camera. So I wanted to do it again and it brought back memories of my secondary school days.

This scenery was taken while I was walking to campus from DK Senza Residence. I was in love with the landscape that I was looking at, and I saw grills near the walkway. So I attempted to take the landscape with the grill so that it would look like a frame within a frame shot.

4) Medium shot

I took this picture of my friend near the SLC room.

5) Close-up shot

Fig 1.5 Close-Up Shot

Another picture of my dog Zorro, and this is a close-up shot. I took this shot a while back last December when I brought him to the park. It shows the details of his features, especially his blue eyes.

6) Worm's eye view

Fig 1.6 Worm Eye View

The last one will be the worm's eye view shot. I was very determined to take this shot since it wasn't an easy one. I had to lie down and take this shot of my friend. It was a good experience, and the outcome was so good that my friend wanted to post it on her Instagram. And this was a quite explorative attempt for me too.
