Lecture Report 1 : Visual Study
Lilo and Stich's Stich was one of my favourite animated characters as a
kid. Despite possessing superhuman strength and a high level
of computer intelligence, Stitch's demeanour was very appealing to me,
and despite his "monster" appearance, Stitch has an emotional fragility
and a childlike personality underlying his "monster" appearance.
Additionally, Stich has a lively attitude that is well-liked by the
villagers, despite the fact that he is from another planet, which causes
some of them to be afraid of him.
The colour palette lends support to his personality and attitude, which
is a great combination. It is very monotonous, with baby blue and sea
ocean blue as the only colours, which the designer claims is not native
to this planet. Colors have meaning, and the colour blue signifies that
he is confident in his own abilities to express himself. In addition, it
is primarily the colour linked with peace, pleasure, and tranquilly,
which represents a strong personality and reflects a strong personality.
The animated version of him has oval-shaped eyes with his wide-open
pupils to display his cuteness side. I would really argue that the stitch is animated with
basic shapes, with the circle being the most frequently used for his
head, eyes, and nose, and the rectangle used for the rest of his body
and limbs.
As a result of his wide range of facial expressions, Stich's enormous
floppy ears were able to play a significant role in the portrayal of his
emotions in the films. Despite his destructive, mischievous, and clumsy nature, he is
still alive and well, replete with sharp fangs and sharp claws to
display the other side of himself.
