DPI : WEEK 9
LECTURE
Mr. Fauzi spoke on Digital Surrealism in today's lecture class, which I joined. He also made a distinction between the differences between realism and surrealism. I realised that Realism takes subject themes from the ordinary and common world, which we refer to as "reality," and applies them to the literary world. It nearly usually involves a topic and concept that are not very unusual or remarkable. Thinking outside of the box is not required since it is not "genuine," as stated before. In contrast to realism, Surrealism studies the subconscious mind, with subject topics focusing on dream-images, and it often seeks to distort the everyday and what we call reality in order to create a more surreal experience.
REALISM SURREALISM
Mr Fauzi also informed us that Photoshop has made it simpler than ever before to create surrealist pictures, with just a rudimentary understanding of photomontage required to get spectacular results.
Tips in Creating Surrealism Artworks

- Unexpected, illogical juxtapositions
- Bizzare assemblages of ordinary objects
- Primitive or child=like designs

- Mindset during creation (Make the artwork looks convincing that it can be real, and be brave to explore all kinds of ideas
