DPI : WEEK 10

LECTURE

Mr Fauzi taught how to utilize After Effects, as well as some samples of previous students' work, in order to assist highlight what we would be doing for our final project in the coming weeks and months. When working with vector and rasterized images, it is possible to create motion graphics animations with After Effects. Not only that he adds that before importing the final composition into After Effects, but the pre-composition should also be accomplished in Photoshop utilizing the proper layering in order to make the animation process more straightforward.

What exactly is After Effects?

Adobe After Effects is a 2.5D animation programme that is used for animation, visual effects, and motion picture compositing.

After Effects is used in the production of films, television shows, and online videos.

This programme is used in the post-production process and has hundreds of effects for manipulating pictures. This enables you to mix many layers of video and pictures into a single scenario.

TUTORIAL

For us to better understand what we were learning in our tutorial lesson, Mr Fauzi showed us several instructional videos on how to get started in Adobe After Effects, which helped us to retain more information. He also gave us the additional videos for extra gaining purposes.

PRACTICAL

As for our practical, we were assigned the challenge of recreating the instructional video that had been shown to us. This practical was designed to assist us in gaining information and practising skills on purpose in order to prepare us for our forthcoming project, which will be discussed more below. The first few minutes of the workout were challenging for me since I was unfamiliar with the Adobe after-effects and it was a whole new experience for me. I had to spend some time getting to know the programme. Aside from that, I needed to view a lesson video in order to better comprehend the procedures. While I was doing the activity, I gained knowledge and found it to be less difficult. In order to make one of my layers more visually attractive, I employed some transitions. We were instructed to export it as H.124 in the training video, however, that choice was not accessible to me, thus I had to export it as a MOV file instead, as specified in the tutorial video. The Loop Animation exercise is shown in the video below, as well as the final result of the exercise.
