DPI : Week 4
LECTURE:
In today's lecture, we learned about Photoshop's adjustment layers and the filter tool. These tools are utilised in order to edit an image without destroying the original pixels.
TUTORIAL:
We were also shown a couple of videos to help us understand what was going on. The video tutorials on adjustment layers and how to navigate the photo filters helped us better understand what we were seeing on the computer screen.
These are the tutorial videos that were shown to us during tutorial class to help us grasp the concepts of how to navigate the photo filters more effectively:
1. How to Remove Background in Photoshop CC- Using Pen Tool
2. How to add an Adjustment to a single layer in Photoshop
3. Quickly Fix Skin Tones! Tutorial
PRACTICAL:
Last week, we learned how to use the pen tool to remove the background and arrange the elements in a way that was consistent with the background. This was the best composition that I was able to put together during the practical class in Week 3 last time around. Not only did I realise that the Third-Rule was extremely important while arranging the composition, but the rule also assisted me in coming up with a pleasing composition as a result.

Adjustment #1
Figure 2.0: Curve
Figure 2.0 illustrates this. When I first started out, I increased the level just to see if it would work with my composition, and it did. In addition, I noticed that increasing the level resulted in a warmer feeling.
Adjustment #2
Figure 2.1: Saturation/Hue
Because the previous version was a little dull and did not give off a bold appearance, I increased the saturation in figure 2.1 to make the colour of the fish a bit more vibrant.
Adjustment #3
Figure 2.1: Level
I also experimented with using the level to increase the contrast between the background and the foreground, as well as the overall tone of my compositions.
