DPI : WEEK 3

LECTURE:

During the lecture class, we learned how to use Photoshop for the first time. The lasso tool, the Pen Tool, and layering were all demonstrated by the lecturer. It was extremely beneficial and relatively simple to learn, given that it was only the fundamentals of Photoshop.

TUTORIAL:

PRACTICAL:

We were tasked with creating a digital collage in Photoshop using Adobe Illustrator. The lecturer provided the material/pictures, and the students were expected to use the elements to create three different compositions using the material/pictures. This was extremely difficult for me because I had no choice but to make use of the elements that were provided to me in this situation. Nonetheless, it was extremely difficult, but I eventually succeeded in creating three different aesthetically pleasing compositions. I was overjoyed and relieved that everything turned out as well as I had hoped.

REFLECTION

During my time has been spent creating this Digital Collage, I was heavily invested in the design process because it was both interesting and beneficial to me in terms of learning something new in Photoshop. I also experimented with many tools that I had never used before. Furthermore, through this collage, I was given the opportunity to demonstrate my creativity and challenge myself to design something completely different from my usual style. For example, I learned that the third rule is extremely important when working on these types of designs because it greatly aids in determining where to begin and where to place the element in order to make it appear more aesthetically pleasing.
